Le Marche Aux Fleurs
Born from a deep curiosity about the Victorian Language of flowers I poured over old floral dictionaries that placed meaning on each bloom, each plant, and every single color of every bloom. An entire conversation could be brought to life without a single word. During a visit to Paris, I spent the day the the Marche Aux Fleurs along the Seine with a floral dictionary in my pocket. Once I got home, I pulled the rolls of film back through my camera and exposed them in my Brooklyn Studio. Each one of these flowers holds a different meaning according to the Victorians. I re-exposed these with a friend who reminded me of a rose. Delicate and thorny.
